Coming To America
Edgecombe was born in the Bahamas. He went to the USA specifically for high school. VJ attended Victory International Institute in Florida. For two years he attended the school, before transferring to Long Island Lutheran in New York. He would quickly become one of the most celebrated and accomplished high school players in the county.
College Career
He had the chance to attend big name programs. Schools like Duke and Kentucky wanted the versatile guard. But VJ would choose to play for Baylor. He would play a single season for the school, and he excelled in his Freshmen season. He put up great all-around numbers for a first-year player. He was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and earned Second-Team All-Big 12 honors.
NBA
Edgecombe would be selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the third pick in 2025 NBA Draft. Playing for a big market like Philly obviously comes with a lot of expectations and pressure. VJ seems to have the demeanors and strength of character needed to handle a city like Philadelphia.
